Like Father, Like Son

Galloping in his father's footsteps, Bon Aurum won the Sir Rupert Clarke Stakes at Caulfield to join stablemates Jameka, Set Square and Azkadellia as Group 1 winners.

It was a fighting victory by the son of Bon Hoffa, winner of the same race in 2007.

The win at the peak of racing's black type honour roll franked the form of the regenerated Bon Aurum, who won The Sofitel, a Listed race, at Flemington at his previous start.

It comfirmed his new training regime, which involved time at Warrnambool, has worked a treat and that the Bon Hoffa horse is back better than ever.

Winner of the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude a year ago, Bon Aurum is pleasing the stable as he shapes up for more spring challenges.

He also has a half brother in the stable. Golden State was placed at his first start a week after Bon Aurum triumphed at Flemington.
